he Pomatt (Pomattertal in German) is one of the valleys of the Val d'Ossola, in the Province of Verbania, on the border with laSvizzera, and is the extreme northern foothills of the Piedmont.

It is crossed by the river Toce, which originates in the head of the valley, forming shortly after the spectacular waterfall.

The valley is one of the two branches of the Antigorio Valley, along the valley Devero: the two valleys meet in locations Baceno. The most important side valley is the Valley Vannino, which is crossed by the river and is home to three of the many man-made lakes in the valley.

The valley is home to numerous reservoirs created in the first decades of the twentieth century for the production of hydroelectric power; all dams are currently owned by Enel.

The valley is crossed by a single road, the Highway 659 of Valle Antigorio and Formazza (former Provincial Road 70 of Valli Antigorio and Formazza), which branches off from Highway 33 Sempione at Crevoladossola and ends allaCascata Toce . Addressing the river properly means not to get into trouble, sometimes thinking that there is a hole inaccessible trout of our lives we can make some mistakes, and so a day's pleasant fishing can turn into a disaster, you have to follow the precautions. Leave always said where you fishing, sometimes you just need a fall to not have the strength to return to the car. Finally we come to the most interesting and challenging river starting from Pontemaglio where the two holes below can bee seen beautiful specimens of brown trout and brook trout you can catch some.
